New York is like no other place on earth. Docking at the super piers on the Manhattan waterfront gives excellent access to the city. Among the countless highlights are the Statue of Liberty, the NY Stock Exchange, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, the Empire State Building, Central Park, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and much more.

Founded in 1521, San Juan is one of the oldest cities in the Americas, brimming with colonial history. Distinctively Spanish, discover elegant squares, blue cobbled streets, historic forts and elaborate cathedrals, all close to white sandy beaches.

Take it easy on the idyllic island of St Thomas. Explore the pretty harbour of its port and capital, Charlotte Amalie, take the cable car for stunning views and indulge in some duty-free shopping before flopping on some of the world's most beautiful beaches.

Philipsburg, built on a sand bar and situated around a central square, is the old Dutch capital and still preserves some attractive colonial architecture. Elsewhere on the island Fort Amsterdam is worthy of a visit. The island's enticing beaches, excellent restaurants, and shops stocked with duty-free bargains are probably the main attraction.

One of the British Leeward Islands, St Kitts is part of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, an independent state on the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea. St Kitts' dignified little capital, Basseterre, is easygoing. See its imposing cathedral before lingering over the purchase of attractive batiks. Climb past the lush sugar-cane fields to take in the sweeping views from the 17th century Brimstone Hill fortress and explore the miles of tropical rainforests, waterfalls, rock formations and fertile hills.

All volcanic landscapes, lush jungle and unspoilt shores, Tortola is almost untouched by tourism. Stroll around the crafts market in the charming capital, Roadtown, enjoy your own space on unusually quiet beaches and snorkel in clear, warm waters.
