Be your own Captain, Cruise Director & Cocktail Master

As we may not be able to travel during summer 2020 in the same way that we did in 2019, we've decided to bring to you some options to be the master of your own command, explore some incredible regions within the UK and do so whilst ensuring your travel party are able to enjoy a fantastic holiday together.

If you haven't considered a boating holiday, the first thing to consider is that no prior experience or licence is required - full tuition is provided. During a (COVID-19 compliant) induction, you will be shown the ropes during a trial run where you will be able to learn to manoeuvre and moor your boat.

Where can you go?

The Broads

Spend an afternoon strolling through quaint towns for afternoon tea, wind your way along shore-side paths or stop to watch the sunset over endless horizons. Whether you’d like to get active with some windsurfing, or while away the hours at a riverside pub, there’s never a dull moment. Plus no lochs involved here!

Britain's Canals and Rivers

On a canal holiday, you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Drift into fascinating riverside cities to soak up some culture or moor up in the heart of the English countryside. Each waterway has its own unique character, from the gentle heartlands of England, the mountain regions of Wales and the splendour of the Peaks. You can even sail the majestic Caledonian Canal and head through the heart of the Highlands, keeping a keen eye out for 'Nessie' on the incredible Loch Ness.

Choose your boat: cruise or canal boat?

Cruisers are easy to handle and have all the home comforts you need onboard. Take your pick from a choice of 4 driving positions, all with a steering wheel. The good news is you don’t need to drive a car to be able to steer a boat, it’s that easy!

Canal boats are built for travelling on canals and are cleverly designed to make the best use of space on board. All steer using a tiller at the back. Take your pick from two layout options and three stern shapes.

Traditional Layout – Living area to the front of the boat

Reverse Layout – Living area to the back of the boat

Stern Shapes:

Traditional Stern - Small, open deck with space for the helmsman – ideal for all-weather cruising

Semi-traditional Stern - These offer more space with extra standing room and often seating too

Cruiser Stern - A spacious, social deck area enclosed by a guard rail – ideal for al fresco dining
