Launching in March 2023, Ambition is the second cruise ship to join the Ambassador Cruise Line and will be a sister to Ambience, which launched in 2022. The 1,200-passenger ship will offer no-fly sailings from Tilbury, Essex, as well as operate a series of regional departures from UK ports including Newcastle, Dundee, Belfast, Liverpool, Bristol and Falmouth. Ambition, which previously sailed for German cruise line Aida as AidaMira, will be aimed at the 50+ British market.

Ambition's deck plans show a theatre, card room, casino and numerous dining options. The ship has 714 cabins, 125 of which have balconies and 113 are suites with up to 62m² of living space. Ambition has two main restaurants and speciality dining options, a more casual bistro style cafe, four bars and lounges and a pub. In terms of public spaces, it has a tiered main theatre, casino, card room, library, craft studio, wellness centre, gymnasium, two swimming pools and a range of shops. ##

Ambition's Maiden Voyage will sail to Norway and Denmark on the 4th Mar 2023 from Tilbury.

Ambition's Itineraries will focus on UK regional ports. Based at Tilbury, Essex, Ambition will also offer a series of regional departures from UK ports including Newcastle, Dundee, Belfast, Liverpool, Bristol and Falmouth.

Ambition's Specs: The ship will carry 1,200 passengers and 500 crew. It will have 714 cabins, 125 of which have balconies and 113 are suites with up to 62m² of living space. Its gross tonnage is 48,123 and it first launched in 1999 as Mistral. The ship will be completely refurbished before entering service and retrofitted with the latest in emission reduction technology, which it claims will reduce will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by approximately 95 percent compared to current standards.

Who goes on Ambassador cruise ships?

Ambassador Cruise Line is predominately for the 50-plus market. All guests must be at least 18 years at the time of sailing, with the exception of multi-generational cruises where toddlers and babies 6 months + can also sail.

Do I have to dress up on a Ambassador cruise?

During the day, casual clothing is the norm. For the evenings on board, the daily programme suggests a dress code. There are generally two "Ambassador formal" nights on each cruise of six nights or longer where suits or dinner jacket for the gentleman are suggested and dresses or cocktail attire for the ladies.

Is everything included on Ambassador cruises?

Ambassador offers three drinks and gratuity packages which are an extra cost per person per night, starting from £15.95 There is a supplement to dine in the speciality restaurants on board. Shore excursions are also an additional cost.

*Gratuities are £5pppn on World Cruise. For 12-17 year olds, gratuities are £4pppn. Drinks Packages are only available to purchase for the entire duration of the cruise and if all occupants of the cabin purchase the same package. All Ambassador Drinks Packages exclude drinks/snacks from the cabin/suite mini bar and bottles of water (large and small). Tea and coffee ordered at the bars are also excluded from the Ambassador Drinks Packages, with the exception of the Ambassador Expedition Package. Please note that any speciality coffees that include alcohol are included within your 15-beverage limit. Ambassador Drinks Packages may be booked up to 7 days before the sailing date. Drinks package purchases are non-refundable. Charges apply to children aged 3 to 17 years old at the time of sailing. Infants under 3 will not be charged and no package needs to be added. Only one drink per person at any time may be ordered (minimum 15-minute wait between orders). Alcoholic drinks are limited to 15 beverages per 24-hour period (6 am to 6 am). Alcoholic drinks requested above the daily limits will be charged with a 50% discount. All packages purchased once on board are STRICTLY non-refundable or transferable between individuals. All drinks within the Ambassador Drinks Packages are served by the glass only. Please note that gratuities & service charges cannot be removed or adjusted if purchased within the package. Purchase of drinks package onboard must be made within 24 hours of boarding. Certain drinks included within the Ambassador drinks packages may be unavailable from time to time, in which case no refund is allowed. No discounts are offered on bottles of wine, champagne or spirits. Available drinks included within each package are highlighted on the bar menus. Ambassador Cruise Line reserves the right to introduce exclusions or limitations without prior notice. Ordering a double shot or a large glass of wine is not permitted under the programme as it counts as two drinks. Any bottles and cans will be served opened. The ship's management reserves the right to refuse the service of alcohol at any time in accordance with our policy for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. A loyalty discount will be applied when purchasing a drinks package. Please note loyalty discount is not in addition to the advertised 50% discount on premium beverages from the bar, included within the Explorer or Expedition packages. The drinks package applies to the full advertised cruise duration, other than the day of disembarkation where drinks will be charged at the standard bar menu rate. For the avoidance of doubt if the cruise is advertised as a 7-night cruise, then 7 shall be applied as the multiplier to the price of the package. Standard spirit measures are 40ml.
