Renaissance is an intimate and comfortable ship, recently renovated in France, and designed to be a home away from home. With a multi-lingual crew and a welcoming atmosphere, guests can experience a blend of elegance and charm throughout their journey. The ship accommodates an average of 1,100 guests, offering a sense of spaciousness and freedom. Renaissance is part of the Ambassador Cruise Line, registered in Hamilton, Bermuda, with a gross tonnage of 55,575 grt. Built in 2025/2023, originally in 1992, the ship has nine guest decks and eight lifts, ensuring easy access to all facilities. It cruises at a speed of 14 knots, with a maximum speed of 22 knots. The officers, crew, cruise staff, and entertainers come from British and international backgrounds, adding to the diverse and welcoming environment on board. The ship’s dimensions include a length of 219.3 metres, a beam of 30.8 metres, and a draft of 7.85 metres.

The Grand Restaurant, spread across two decks with a ceiling illuminated by a thousand lights, provides a refined dining experience with stunning sea views. The Belle-Île Buffet Restaurant, located next to the pool, offers a more casual option, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. Speciality dining venues are also available, providing further opportunities for guests to explore different culinary experiences. The ship features a selection of bars and lounges, including the Ocean Bar, which overlooks the Grand Foyer and offers expertly crafted drinks alongside live music performances. Le Panoramique Lounge & Nightclub, situated at the front of the ship on the highest deck, boasts breathtaking 180° views during the day and transforms into a lively nightclub in the evening, with a resident DJ and live band.

Who goes on Ambassador cruise ships?

Ambassador Cruise Line is predominately for the 50-plus market. All guests must be at least 18 years at the time of sailing, with the exception of multi-generational cruises where toddlers and babies 6 months + can also sail.


Do I have to dress up on a Ambassador cruise?

During the day, casual clothing is the norm. For the evenings on board, the daily programme suggests a dress code. There are generally two "Ambassador formal" nights on each cruise of six nights or longer where suits or dinner jacket for the gentleman are suggested and dresses or cocktail attire for the ladies.


Is everything included on Ambassador cruises?

Ambassador offers three drinks and gratuity packages which are an extra cost per person per night, starting from £15.95 There is a supplement to dine in the speciality restaurants on board. Shore excursions are also an additional cost.
