The fourth and final of Celebrity's Edge class cruise ships, Celebrity Ascent, will launch in autumn 2023 and will feature several innovations debuted by Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond. Celebrity Ascent will have a double passenger capacity of 3,260 people. The ship is larger than the line's Millennium-class ships but slightly smaller than the Solstice Class.
Celebrity Ascent Specs Celebrity Ascent will be 140,600 gross registered tons and 1,073 feet long.
It's being built at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France; the first piece of steel was cut in November 2021.
The Celebrity Ascent Deck Plan includes The Magic Carpet, Infinite Balcony Cabins. The stand-out features on the Celebrity Ascent deck plan include The Magic Carpet, a movable deck cantilevered off the side of the ship which moves from decks 2 to 16. The space serves multiple purposes as a restaurant, a bar and an embarkation area.
The Retreat is free but only available to passengers staying in suites. The space includes a private pool and sundeck, lounge and restaurant. The lounge will serve breakfast and host a happy hour daily.
The main pool area is known as the Resort Deck. It features a large pool flanked by sculptural trees and two "martini glass" Jacuzzis that overlook the deck below.
The Rooftop Garden space combines the popular top-deck Lawn Club found on the Solstice-class ships with the Rooftop Terrace that is so popular on Millennium-class ship. The Rooftop Garden is an area filled with live greenery inspired by childhood playgrounds. The sculptures double as seats for musical performers. During the day, The Rooftop Garden will host yoga and various games and activities. At night, passengers can show up for live music and the line's A Taste of Film, which pairs movies and dining. Within the Rooftop Garden will be a Rooftop Garden Grill, a for-fee alternative eatery, which will serve gourmet burgers during the day and transform into a swanky barbecue joint at night.
Another alternative dining venue on Celebrity Ascent will be a raw bar on Deck 5.
The line's suite-only Luminae, which is a partitioned section of the main dining room, has been turned into the Luminae at The Retreat, a standalone restaurant located on Deck 11. Luminae will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Infinite Balcony cabins are designed to blend indoors and outdoors, and adding almost a quarter of the size of the cabin by using bi-fold doors. The ship will have 918 Infinite Veranda cabins, including 16 single-accommodation rooms, the first time Celebrity has catered specifically for solo travellers. Each coming in at more than 5,000 square feet, the Iconic Suites are located above the bridge, facing forward, giving occupants the same view as the captain. Iconic Suites have two bedrooms and 700-square-foot balconies placed over the bridge wing. Balconies will have private Jacuzzis and cabanas. For those who want maximum room, the Edge Villas are two-level suites which features an elevated master bedroom, large living room and two full bathrooms. The six Edge Villas will each span decks 14 and 15. Each Edge Villa balcony will feature a private plunge pool

Celebrity draws a broad range of travellers, most attracted by the cuisine, unusual entertainment and creative itineraries. Passenger ages typically average in the 50s, with family groups more visible in the summer and during school vacations. The longer and more exotic cruises usually host an older demographic, and the passenger mix varies with the port of embarkation but most are from North America, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
Yes and no. The norm on most Celebrity sailings is smart-casual, but in the Galapagos, attire is casual. Despite the daytime casual vibe, you won't find T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps or swimwear in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants at any time. Formal nights (held once on cruises six nights or shorter, twice on longer itineraries) have been replaced by Evening Chic, where anything from cocktail attire to formal wear is appropriate. The dress code also extends to the theatre on those evenings.
No. The cruise fare for a Celebrity cruise covers dining in several complimentary venues, including the Main Dining Room, Oceanview Café buffet restaurant, Spa Café, Mast Grill (on most ships) and Seaside Grill. Room service is also complimentary, except for the period between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Passengers staying at certain suite levels have additional complimentary dining privileges, and those staying in AquaClass rooms can dine in the Blu restaurant without charge. Water, basic coffee and tea, and certain juices are provided free of charge, but unless you're booked in certain suite categories, you'll have to pay extra for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. The extensive entertainment from Broadway-style theatre to circus shows, comedy, magic, dance and live music is all available without charge. The kids' program is also free, though you'll pay extra for babysitting. Shore excursions are not covered by cruise fares, nor are gratuities, spa and salon services and some fitness classes. There is also a fee for Wi-Fi and laundry services.
On ships with the Lawn Club, hanging out on the grass, whether playing bocce or just relaxing and reading, is one of the most popular activities for Celebrity cruisers. Other popular things to do on these ships is lounge in the adults-only Solarium, hit the Canyon Ranch Spa or participate in wine tasting. Some ships also offer hot glassmaking demonstrations and classes; sign up early for the classes because they fill up fast. On ships without a Lawn Club, relaxing by the pool or in the Solarium is popular, as are the once- or twice-per-cruise Rooftop film and dinner events. At night, Celebrity showcases everything from Vegas-style production shows to comedians and cabaret, drawing a crowd each time. The ships have a robust program for kids, a lot of it centred on edutainment. Many of the activities are offered courtesy of partners like Anturus, Lonely Planet, Xbox, Fat Brain Toys and Budsies.
