Step aboard Aurora, P&O Cruises’ smallest ship, and enjoy an intimate, classic cruise experience with a cosy and welcoming feel. Sailing since 2000, she combines traditional touches with elegant surroundings, from the striking 35-foot sculpture in the atrium to artwork displayed throughout the ship.

As an adults-only ship, Aurora offers a more relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of inviting spaces to unwind. You can soak up the sun around the tiered Terrace Pool or head to the Crystal Pool, where a retractable roof means you can enjoy a swim whatever the weather. With just nine guest decks, she is also easy to get around and has a more intimate feel than P&O Cruises’ larger ships.

You can spend your days aboard Aurora doing as much or as little as you like. Take a dip in one of the ship’s pools, join a dance class, enjoy some friendly competition with onboard games or settle in to watch a film at the luxurious 200-seat Playhouse Cinema.

Evenings bring a choice of entertainment across the ship’s seven venues. You can enjoy productions and interactive shows, including magic show Unbelievable, Wavelength and Top of the Billboards, or head to Carmen’s for cabaret performances. For live music and a more relaxed atmosphere, Champions pub and Masquerade offer further places to spend your evening.

Dining aboard Aurora gives you a good choice for a ship of her size, with included restaurants alongside speciality venues available for an additional charge. You can choose between Freedom and Club Dining in the two main restaurants, enjoy casual meals at the Horizon Buffet or pick up freshly made stone-baked pizza by the pool at the Lido Grill.

When you fancy something a little different, speciality dining includes Indian-British fusion cuisine at Sindhu, tapas paired with wine at The Glass House, and flavours inspired by Latin America and the Caribbean at The Beach House. You can also enjoy afternoon tea, room service and dining options throughout the day, giving you plenty of flexibility.

Your accommodation aboard Aurora ranges from comfortable Inside and Sea View cabins to Balcony cabins, Mini Suites and Suites. With a choice of categories available, you can select the right balance of space, views and comfort for the way you want to cruise.

Whichever cabin you choose, you’ll have a comfortable place to return to after a day enjoying the ship. If having your own outdoor space is important to you, Balcony cabins provide a private place to sit back and enjoy the sea air, while Mini Suites and Suites offer a more spacious experience.

Who goes on P&O Cruises cruise ships?

The line is aimed squarely at Brits, and that's pretty well the only nationality you'll find abroad at any time of year, wherever the ship is based. The demographic varies drastically depending on the type of ship and time of year. The adults-only ships tend to attract couples of 55-years plus; the family-friendly ones will attract families during the holiday periods, and then revert to 55+ couples outside of school holidays. Age will skew lower on the mini-break cruises to Europe and the Channel Islands. P&O Cruises is also aimed squarely at Middle England -- it's not upmarket and not "bucket and spade". The line is about as typically British as you can get.

Do I have to dress up on a P&O Cruises cruise?

P&O cruisers veer on the side of smart during the evening (not Cunard smart, but certainly not casual or scruffy), with casual during the day -- shorts, T-shirts, baseball caps and flip flops are perfectly acceptable day wear. On Gala nights passengers tend to make an effort and you'll see a range of clothing from ball gowns and black tie to and dark suits and long dresses and heels.

Is everything included on P&O Cruises cruises?

No, though tips are included in the price of the cruise and you won't find the rampant up charging you get on US lines. You'll pay extra for speciality restaurants, adults-only relaxation areas, the spa (treatments and thermal suite access), alcoholic and soft drinks.

What are P&O Cruises' most popular activities?

P&O Cruises does not go in for adrenaline-filled activities like the US ships, so you won't even find a climbing wall even on the largest ships, let alone simulated skydiving, dodgems or simulated surfing. Daytime activities across the fleet consist of Daily activities range from the old-time favourites such as deck quoits, shuffleboard and table tennis to line dancing and party dance classes plus plenty of quizzes throughout the day including a pub challenge.
