Silver Whisper offers an intimate luxury cruise experience, combining spacious all-suite accommodation with attentive personal service. Carrying up to 392 guests and supported by 302 crew, she has a high crew-to-guest ratio and a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere. Her relatively small size also allows her to access more secluded ports, while her range of public spaces provides plenty of room to relax and socialise.

Following her 2024 refurbishment, Silver Whisper offers an elegant choice of lounges, restaurants and leisure facilities. You can enjoy panoramic sea views from the Observation Lounge, unwind beside the swimming pool or spend time in the Atrium, a light-filled space serving drinks and snacks throughout the day. With four restaurants and a choice of bars, there is also plenty of variety when it comes to dining and spending your evenings onboard.

The Pool Deck is a central outdoor gathering space, with a swimming pool, whirlpools and comfortable loungers arranged in sunny and shaded areas. For a little relaxation, the Zagara Beauty Spa offers treatments including massages, facials and body wraps, while the adjoining beauty salon provides hair and grooming services. The Fitness Centre features exercise equipment, classes and personalised services, helping you keep active while at sea.

For entertainment, The Show Lounge hosts theatrical performances in a tiered-seating setting, while the Panorama Lounge is a more relaxed spot for cocktails and piano music. You can also retreat to the Observation Lounge for a quieter atmosphere and far-reaching sea views, try your luck in the casino or enjoy a cigar and a fine spirit at Connoisseur's Corner. Other facilities include a boutique and a card and conference room.

Silver Whisper features four restaurants, offering a choice of cuisines and dining styles. The Restaurant is the main dining venue, with menus combining familiar favourites and dishes inspired by the destinations visited. La Terrazza serves breakfast and lunch from buffet stations, before offering Italian cuisine in the evening, including handmade pasta and seafood.

For a more informal meal, The Grill serves salads, grilled seafood and steaks in a poolside setting. La Dame provides a more refined dining experience, with French-inspired tasting menus showcasing seasonal ingredients and carefully prepared dishes. The Atrium also offers drinks and snacks throughout the day, while the ship's bars provide inviting places to enjoy a cocktail or a nightcap.

All accommodation aboard Silver Whisper is suite-based, with nine categories to choose from, ranging from Vista Suites to the Owner's Suite. Vista Suites feature large picture windows framing panoramic ocean views, while Classic, Superior and Deluxe Veranda Suites offer private verandas where you can enjoy the fresh sea air. Medallion Suites provide a separate living area and teak-style balcony, while Silver Suites offer larger verandas and more generous living space.

At the upper end of the range, Royal, Grand and Owner's Suites provide progressively more spacious accommodation, with generous living areas and additional room to relax or entertain. Across the categories, the emphasis is on comfortable surroundings and personal service, with butler service forming part of the Silversea suite experience. Whether you choose a picture-window suite or one with a private veranda, you'll have a comfortable retreat to return to after time spent ashore.

Best for...

Sophisticated international travellers who enjoy unusual destinations yet want a hint of traditional formality, complete with butler service

Not the best for...

Young families and American-centric cruisers who like to be casual all the time

Who goes on Silversea cruise ships?

Silversea caters to Baby Boomers, affluent and often retired, with the leisure and the resources to make Silversea their cruise line of choice. Silversea Expeditions also appeals to that demographic, as well as younger professionals with a desire for active cruising that includes posh cabins and stellar service alongside Zodiac expeditions, snorkelling excursions and in-port hikes. Shorter classic voyages also tend to draw younger passengers. About 60 percent of passengers onboard come from the Americas, the rest from international markets.

Do I have to dress up on a Silversea cruise?

Yes, if you are going on a classic cruise ship; no if you're sailing on a luxury expedition cruise. The classic ships divide evenings among casual resort wear, informal attire (for men, this means a jacket, tie optional, and women wear dresses or pantsuits) and formal nights when eveningwear for women is an evening gown or cocktail dress and men wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits, and a tie is required. The dress code is more casual on the expedition vessels, and there are no formal nights.

Is everything included on Silversea cruises?

Silversea cruises are fairly inclusive, with the only extras being shore excursions (except on Silversea's expedition cruises on which they're included in the cruise price), shop purchases, spa and beauty treatments, and send-out laundry. Some speciality restaurants also cost extra (and caviar on the room service menu). Cruise fares include gratuities, unlimited beverages (soft and alcoholic), internet access and round trip transportation into town in most ports. Most itineraries also include transfers to/from the ship, and some even include complimentary round trip economy airfare.

What are Silversea's most popular activities?

Onboard, each Silversea cruise ship has a pool and hot tubs that see a lot of action, and the spa gets a lot of use, as well. Silversea cruisers also enjoy attending lectures on the culture and history of the destinations they visit, and like to spend time in the library. Evening shows, which range from opera-themed to swing-era classics, also draw a crowd. When in port, most Silversea cruisers opt for one of the line's many shore excursion offerings. Expedition cruises bring cruisers together with experts to lead hiking, Zodiac, snorkelling, diving and other small group excursions.
