What do our most expensive cruises look like?

Nick White
Sometimes they're really long...

We have cruises that last 3-4 months or more! Some focus on a wide range of destinations, like Holland America Line’s 133 night sailing in 2025 which visits Africa, Europe and the Americas (all of them!).  Priced at around £25,000 - see details

Alternatively you can have a really in-depth sailing across one particular region, for example Fred. Olsen have a 93 night sailing in November which stops in Africa, then spends time sailing around the islands of the Indian Ocean.  Priced at around £10,000 - see details

Or they can focus on a less-travelled locales

Some destinations are in high demand but relatively few visitors are allowed to access, due to environmental regulations.  For example Antarctica, the Galapagos, Amazon or Ganges.  With cabins like gold dust, prices are inevitably higher.

Uniworld have a 15 night trip at just under £13,000 (see details) where you get to explore the famous Amazon without trekking through the jungle battling giant anacondas (maybe that’s a touch dramatic). It’s perfect taste of adventure whilst staying on your boutique ‘floating hotel’.

You might sail on on a ship-within-a-ship…

This ‘ship-within-a-ship’ concept offers exclusive accommodation and perks that other guests can't access…very VIP!  Found on selected cruise lines (Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC and others) they typically feature sumptuous suites, private sundecks, concierge, butlers and more.  Often priced at more than 8 times that of a standard cabin.

And, of course, there’s the luxury cruise lines…

All the cruise lines we recommend have their touches of luxury, but some provide what we might call ‘ultra-luxury’, and have the price tag to go with it, with sailings up to £12,000 for 7 nights.

What are they like? Well firstly they're spacious, very spacious, with fewer guests on good-sized ships.  Then, just think of everything you might want from a cruise then take it up a level.  Your surroundings are stunning, of course, your dining is of the highest standard, naturally, but one the biggest selling points of these cruise lines is the excursions – with your own private vehicle and driver you can plan completely bespoke trips, with access to experiences that are reserved for the fortunate few.
