When the Seabourn Odyssey launched in 2009, it marked a departure from the traditional style of Seabourn's previous ships. With contemporary design, spacious suites, and modern amenities, it offered a fresh experience. A 2019 refurbishment updated the ship's look and added conveniences like USB ports and new furnishings. The ship's social atmosphere, open dining, and various activities make it appealing to sophisticated travellers. Despite its charms, there are areas for improvement, such as evening entertainment and inconsistent service. Overall, Seabourn Odyssey provides a blend of traditional luxury and modern features. Dress code ranges from upscale casual to formal attire for evenings.

Daytime and Evening Entertainment

During the day, especially on sea days, there's a rich variety of activities catering mainly to older guests. Options include arts and crafts, bridge lessons, shuffleboard, wine tastings, mini-golf, and fashion shows. A crowd favorite is the daily team trivia, where participants can socialise and flaunt their knowledge. While joining a team implies regular attendance, it's all in good fun without any pressure.

Evening entertainment varies in quality. Shows by onboard entertainers, especially those led by the cruise director and staff, are generally excellent. Some shows, like The Divas of Motown, feature talented singers.

Music is plentiful around the ship, with live performances in venues like the Observation Lounge, poolside, and The Club, where a band plays nostalgic pop tunes before and after dinner. The Club also hosts late-night dancing and merriment.

Enrichment

Seabourn usually hosts enlightening lectures on topics such as history, politics, and international affairs. Daily port talks are standard presentations.

Seabourn Odyssey Bars and Lounges

Despite accommodating only 450 passengers, the ship boasts several bars and lounges. The ship's all-inclusive liquor policy doesn't notably affect the onboard atmosphere.

Seabourn Odyssey Outdoor Recreation

The ship features a main pool area on Deck 8 with ample seating and shaded spots. Additionally, there's a quieter pool on the stern and a large whirlpool on Deck 6. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the marina on Deck 2, offering various activities when the ship is anchored.

Seabourn Odyssey Services

Seabourn Square on Deck 7 serves as the ship's service hub, housing guest relations, shore excursions, and a library. Shops offering fashion, logo merchandise, and luxury items are nearby. Wifi is available for a fee, with packages for different usage levels. Self-serve laundromats are complimentary.

The ship's spa and fitness centre on Deck 8 offer a range of services, including yoga, Pilates, and personal training. A Mindful Living Coach leads sessions on mindful living, complemented by spa treatments such as massages and facials. The thermal suite requires a fee unless you're staying in a spa suite.

Seabourn's cuisine on Odyssey remains top-notch, with a diverse array of dishes from the elegant Restaurant to the relaxed Colonnade. The collaboration with Chef Thomas Keller elevates the culinary experience across all venues. Menus cater to various dietary preferences, and ordering custom dishes is seamless. Wine selection is ample, with options to suit every palate.

The Restaurant offers open-seating dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a formal atmosphere in the evenings. Breakfast features a range of options, including custom omelettes and hearty choices like grilled steak. Lunch presents themed menus alongside everyday favourites like burgers and salads. Dinner is a highlight, with changing daily inspirations and classic Seabourn dishes.

Seabourn Square serves as a central gathering place, offering snacks and beverages throughout the day, though the selection could be more varied. The Colonnade, with its indoor and outdoor seating, provides a casual yet refined dining experience for all meals, with themed dinners and exceptional service.

The Grill by Thomas Keller offers a steakhouse experience with premium cuts and indulgent desserts. Wines, selected by a renowned sommelier, complement the menu. Reservations are required for dinner.

The Patio offers a limited lunch menu and reservations-only surf-and-turf dinners, featuring Keller's signature burger and other delights. Afternoon Tea, held in the Observatory Lounge, provides a relaxed setting for pastries and tea.

Room service, available 24/7, offers a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, with dishes from The Restaurant's menu available for dinner.
